Megan McGregor Cacchio

Megan has been competing horses for over twenty years. She began competing in three-day eventing in Alabama, where she learned the importance of balance, fitness, and soundness. While attending Duke University in Durham, NC, Megan decided to change her focus to the sport of show jumping under the guidance of Gail Knieriem.

After graduating summa cum laude from Duke, Megan spent two years in New Jersey training at Quiet Winter Farm with Carol Thompson and Callan Solem. During this time she was able to concentrate on her riding and gained experience in the Amateur classes with several horses including Torsinaa, Chester, Clover Market, and N.Z. Dip. After returning to North Carolina, Megan worked as a veterinary assistant under Dr. Kirsten Tilltoson while continuing to train and compete with Torsinaa and Chester in the Amateur-Owner and Open Jumper Divisions.

Megan is now thrilled to have purchased a farm in Rougemont, NC where she will be able to ride and train horses. She continues to improve her riding by training with Tracy Magness. Megan is a current member of USEF, USHJA, NCHJA, and North Carolina Horse Council.
